CARPETS - RUGS TEXTILE COVERING / ITEMS FOR CONFORT
Carpet, rugs are items of comfort without comparison. Providing thermal and acoustic insulation, these coverings are also shock absorbers.
These coverings must be maintained for comfort to remain healthy and durable.
CARPET: AN INVESTMENT TO BE LOOKED AFTER
It is proven that carpets are often replaced well before wear and tear makes it necessary, mainly because of how they look. This covering represents an investment which can be preserved by regular and suitable maintenance.
Certain manufacturers guarantee the life expectancy of their carpets subject to maintenance recommendations being respected.
OUR MAINTENANCE ADVICE
Problems linked to maintenance have various origins.
VACUUMING
Good maintenance starts with using a suitable vacuum (mechanical action and power) at a frequency to allow the maximum removal of dust and grit which would otherwise cut fibres under the impact of heels.
BEHAVIOUR
Cleaning is often far too infrequent, meaning operators have to be more insistent and more aggressive to get a result.
WATER
Avoid incorrect use of water to clean carpets. Excess water in certain procedures (up to 60 litres for 100m2) deteriorates the underlay, permeates between tiles, and splits the finishing by causing the layers to become detached and form unsightly “bubbles”. Moreover, water retention encourages germs, shrinks the backs of carpets made from twisted wool by tearing their roots as well as damaging thermally welded joints. Water, by evaporation, activates the capillarity and causes stains to re-appearance a few days later. The use of water also incurs long drying times.
CHEMICALS - "SOAP"
Do not use shampoos and so-called dry foams made from “soap” containing a high percentage of dry extracts, surface active agents which, when poorly rinsed, lead to an acceleration of re-clogging after cleaning.
To rinse this chemical well, clean water must be used plentifully.
FABRICS – SEATS
Wall
rugs (except stretched fabrics), settees, armchairs, sofas, banks of seats
in restaurants, office seating, etc… Cleaning seating using traditional
methods, or by injection/extraction, is a risk because of fittings which
are present under the fabric (Percale, hair or foam, nails, springs, belts,
etc…). Stains which have permeated the lining materials will systematically
re-appear. The drying time for hair or foam prevents the seat being reused
in a reasonable time.
BASIC SYSTEM® CARPET PROCEDURE
Similar
to solvent free dry cleaning, the BASIC SYSTEM® method combines chemical,
mechanical and thermal actions.
1° - Vacuuming by vacuum-brush.
2° - Chemical action: by spraying the exclusive BASIC PRO® product in quantities of 8 litres for 100m2 carpet. The product has a neutral pH and has no dry extracts. No risk of discolouration or re-clogging..
3° - Mechanical and thermal action using a brushing machine, fitted with one brush then the unique BASIC DISK® transfer disk. By wiping each carpet fibre, the BASIC DISK ® collects the deepest dirt.
4° - Suction by vacuum-brush to comb the fibres. The fibres are flexible,
light and dry.
BASIC SYSTEM ® ADVANTAGES
1°
- Speed of drying.
2° - Silence.
3° - No risk for carpets and rugs.
4° - Complete removal of stains.
5° - Deep cleaning, to the backing.
6° - Uniformity of cleaning.
7° - No residue of dry or soapy extracts, therefore no re-clogging. Neutral pH.
8° - Removal of chewing gum.
9° - Restores colour, shine or original flexibility of fibres.
PROCEDURE
FOR FABRIC AND SEATING
The
philosophy behind the procedures used to renovate seating is identical:
use the minimum of solution in order not to soak it.
1° -1. Deep and insistent vacuuming, brushing.
2° - 2. Spraying, brushing, wiping with a mini brushing machine and mini
BASIC DISK® .
